About Starfish Literacy

Remember the story about the child throwing one starfish at a time into the ocean? When the adult said the beach was too large to make any difference, the child threw one more starfish into the surf and said it made a difference to that one.

The concept of Starfish Literacy arose as the demand for educational support grew during the pandemic. Many parents, caregivers, teachers, and students went without access to individualized attention. The tools and resources that proved successful in boosting literacy for one educator in one school wasn’t enough to help early learners nationwide. Until now.

Starfish Literacy offers a way to expand access to literacy resources and specialized workshops for all families and educators across the nation. One student at a time, we can unlock opportunities that literacy provides.
